Look at my lovely children Musonda and Malama Mwape no English names for my children until the time I will hear that a white man has named his or her children Mwape and in return I will do the same.

Charles Mwape is a third born commonly known as CM3 in the family of (10) ten children and the only child with a deferent father. Dr. Mwape was born on 1st June, 1970 in Mufulira from a Blind mother namely Funny Mwaba but raised by the grandmother because the mother reconciled with the first husband who did not want Dr. Mwape and was rejected by the biological father at the age of 6 months.

Dr. Mwape went to several primary schools in Ndola and Mufulira respectively but completed primary education at Kambowa Primary School in Ndola rural within Zambia Council for the handicapped farms now called Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities He did part of his secondary school at Tug-Agan and Mansa Secondary School respectively and later Munali Secondary school. Dr. Mwape has been a disability rights activist for over 17 years and is the former Director General for the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) and a former Commissioner appointed by the Republican President of Zamia in both the Mungomba Commission and the National Constitutional Conference.

He holds a Bachelors of Social Work degree from the College of Professional Management (COPM) UK, a Bachelor of Public Administration from COPM-USA, a Master of Public Administration from COPM-USA, a PhD in Public Administration from the College of Professional Management, a Post-Graduate Diploma M and E from Cavendish University Zambia, a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from Cavendish University Zambia and a Master of Social Work from Cavendish University Zambia and Master of Science in Leadership Peace and Conflict Resolution from University of Zambia and currently finalist PhD student for Africa Research University.

In 1990 together with the late Rev John Jailas Chisalah they responded to challenges of vulnerable people and formed Hope for Africa International.
